Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is simple.
In a world with so many distractions it is a challenge to stay grounded and simple-minded. We aim to travel the Americas exploring the natural beauty and unique cultures along the way- all while doing our best to leave each location in a better state than we found it. We value face-to-face communication over those technologically forged. We believe that, hands-on service work triumphs over anonymous checks mailed to distant organizations. We are encouraging the voice of indigenous people, regardless of their economic, political, or social standing, to be heard. All too often the true needs of a community are overlooked and the help given is not really help but more of an intrusion. Due to a lack of training in intercultural communication, many well-intended organizations find themselves overlooking a culture’s traditions that could instead foster support from the local people. Throughout our travels, we hope to gain an understanding of cultural customs and beliefs, thereby incorporating them into the service work we undertake each day.
Our Purpose

Our purpose is to promote all things green.
This may look like a number of things, from providing information on how live life with a minimal impact to introducing sustainable energy methods. Some days it might look like simply removing trash ourselves. Our mode of transportation will reflect our cause. Traveling by bicycle will allow us to experience each country thoroughly without any harmful impact on the environment.
We believe life is meant to be enjoyed and we intend to do so to the fullest. Equally important is taking every opportunity to improve the world, no matter how large or small that impact may be. We were born into a very privileged part of today’s world, and therefore feel it is our responsibility to take advantage of the tools, education and support we have amassed to help those less fortunate. These are the driving principles of the ride, as well as those that guide our lives everyday.
